The Right Side of the Bed

I have been married to the same woman since 1979. I have always slept on the right side of the bed looking from the foot of the bed. She will not let me even try the left side of the bed.

The same holds true if we go to a hotel. I stay on the right side of the bed and she is on the left side. The same set up goes in the RV too.

Once we stayed in a hotel with two of my dogs, Peaches and Galaxy. There were two twin beds instead of one king. Peaches jumped up on the left side of the bed and I crawled into the right side. Gigi and Galaxy slept in their proper positions in the other bed.

Next week I’m going to Los Angeles and I going to be by myself. I will sleep on the left side of the bed by golly.

I am forced to sleep on the right side too! I slept on the left before I got married and I naturally drift toward the left at night. Oh well.

I bet that halfway through the night you end up moving over to the right side - it's just out of habit. You'll be missing Gigi and will gravitate that way to be more comfortable.

With Chris and I, he is always on the side closest to the door, wherever we are. For some reason I feel safer that way - my crazy mind makes me think that if a murderer is going to break in (and come through the door) then he will be wacked first and I'll have a chance to get away.

Uh, is that too morbid?

I've been married for... almost nine years... and MY personal preference would be to take the whole bed... both left and right... yep... my wife is a small girl! I'm sure she can find room around me somewhere! but nooooooo I have to shaaaaare it! oh well -

My hubby is kind enough to allow me whichever side of the bed is closest to the door. Wow... I just realized how selfish it is of me to do that! Of course, ends up on my side of the bed no matter which side I'm on. We could fit a whole "nuther" person on the side he vacates.

I sleep the farthest away from a window - the cold draft, I guess! But, in our new house, the window is above our heads so I'm closest to the door. It's a good thing too, since I'm getting up all the time now to go pee in the middle of the night. Ah, the joys of baby squishing bladder!
