Woke Up This Morning

Rise up this mornin,

Smiled with the risin sun,

Three little birds

Pitch by my doorstep

Singin sweet songs

Of melodies pure and true,

Sayin, (this is my message to you-ou-ou:)

I had this email from border collie rescue pleading for someone to rescue this dog from Charlotte animal control. I called and she is still there. “Poor emaciated, flea-ridden Border collie (see picture below) was turned in by someone who found her. She had no hair from flea allergy. I asked them to IP her so I could try to find rescue. She is HW negative and in good shape for her estimated age. Please, Please contact anyone you know that does Border collie rescue and lets see if we can find rescue. For more information about this animal, call: Animal Care & Control, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department at (704) 336-3786 Ask for information about animal ID# A729498”

I cannot house 4 dogs in my house but I can’t let this dog die just because no one wants her and she is allergic to fleas.

I have been nerved out lately; kind of frazzled with all of my work.

So I thought it would be a good idea to bake bread last night. I have never done this without a bread machine. It was fun and turned out just wonderful.

This morning I was doing a bit of yard work and got stung between the toes by a yellow jacket. Damn it hurt….damn it still hurts.

I better go into town and check on this dog.

We met an emaciated bull dog at the theater last week, he had a deep scar around his neck from a having had a too-tight rope around it for too long.

But he was a happy boy, free of encumbrances for a the time being, and we hope someone from the show was able to bring him home or to the shelter to await a loving home.

With so many of our 11 kids aging and needing extra care, another one would put us over the edge.

I hope we made the right decision....I know we did for the dog. She is so sweet and we will actively try to get her a home after we grow her some hair.

Oh, that poor baby! It's good to know there are programs that find good homes for such animals. So you're going to nurse her back to health? How will you be able to give her up when it's time? That would be the hardest part for me.
