Let Me Count the Ways.....

I have had my iPhone for almost a year now and my love for it grows daily.

Just yesterday I got the free Kindle app and downloaded the Reagan Diaries for $9.99. It is easy to use, instant and not bulky like a book.

I use my Tide app when I am at the coast and I use my Accuweather app several times a day. My Associated Press app and my CNBC app push only the most serious breaking news to the forefront to keep me knowledgeable.

My iPhone lets me dictate and mostly understands my accent so I can text and email. I can speak to google and it finds what I am looking for. My phone keep the police away with Trapster. I Facebook, Ebay and Paypal on my iPhone. I can listen to my local radio station anywhere with their app or satellite radio with a Sirius app. I track my flights and my friends flights when I am designated to pick them up at the airport.

I can instantly call up my local TV schedule or movies or good place to eat wherever I am because it always knows where I am.

I can bank, surf the web, take pictures and shoot video. I can even tether my phone now so I can use my laptop even if there is no wifi around via the phone's 3G network.

It is a darn good phone too and contrary to the TV commercials the Att network works good for me wherever I travel.

My iPhone is synced via google wirelessly so any change my assistant or I make to my calendar or contacts instantly shows up on my phone.

Yes I even have the iFart app when I want to play a prank.

I watch movies on my iPhone and listen to my entire collection of music via the 16 gigs of storage.

All this and wrapped in a protective Otterbox.

I've been on the Crackberry for months now and I feel your techno-addiction though I am toying with the idea of a Droid. It has more screen and memory...I'm a Verizon customer so I can't lust the Iphone.

I'm sure there will be soon enough.

Your getting an awful lot of bang for that gadget, no doubt, I am a tad jealous(tad) but tell us the truth...bottom dollar cost for all those services, including tax and any other thrown in there fee.

Well you can get an iPhone for as little as $49 right now for a refurbished one from At&t or expect to pay $199 to $299 depending on the storage for a new G3S iPhone.

Then you must buy a monthly data plan which is $30 unlimited on the 3G (fast) and or Edge (not as fast) network. Then you need a calling plan. They start at $39 up to $99 a month for unlimited. Then whatever taxes are involved.

So you could be as low as $69 a month for 450 calling minutes and unlimited data. If you want unlimited texting add another $5.

My plan runs about $100 a month for everything including taxes. I use free email services through google and most of my apps were free.

I have hacked my phone called "jailbreaking" which allows me to tether my phone. All that was free.

Gigi has one too and we have a joint account and share minutes and I have thousands of rollover minutes. I should really reduce my plan.

We have a third person on our plan that shares a family account too.

My plan comes out to $90 per person per month after the phone was purchased. It could be done cheaper with fewer minutes and less texting. I'm texting like a teenage girl now.

Mic....there is an app for that....it costs $49 and it has charts for north america and the virgin islands. As you know charts are never cheap.

Wow! Thank You. That doesn't sound as bad as we thought.

A data plan at $30 and say $70 worth of calling plan on a joint account...do you think calls between the two phones would be unlimited? We'd be in big trouble if our calls to each other counted as minutes.

Were interested, but would never spend much over $100 just for the phones and have to keep a land line open for desk and laptop computer also.

Or are we missing something here? Were not very techy but we want to stay *with the program* so to speak.

I have had a BB thru AT&T for a few months now and I am still learning how to use it. The thing does so much...I think it can even scramble eggs and cook bacon. Having fun with it.

I don't like fruit phones. I can't customize the desktop. I can't change the battery. I HAVE to use iTunes. I can't add memory.

I hear you... I feel the same way about mine :) I just keep finding more and more about my phone that pleases me - and with the crazy amount of apps available it's like a phone that adapts to my needs whenever they change :)
