Things Around Real Farmville

I have used some stimulus money to build a few things around the farm. A nice 36X12 shelter for the three stall barn.

A hot water shower to wash horses, dogs and anyone willing to wash outdoors.

And a soon to be chicken coop made from a prefab dog pen. My trusty chicken herder Tanner looks on.

Finally! I've been looking for Red Wigglers for years.

That hot water heater is a tiny little thing...I like it!

6 farthings a pint for those and all the manure you can haul.

Good idea about the prefab dog pen, I've been trying to figure out how to protect our chickens when we get them.

Terry I will put wire over the top to protect them from critters like owls and hawks and coyotes. Then tarp them. I will make a double nesting box from a wooden wine box with a divider. Then cross the corners with branches for roosting. I made feeders and waterer's from plastic Home Depot buckets and lids. The used a plastic planter bottom under that. Bigger, better and cheaper than store bought feeders. In winter I will need more cold protection.

Just move them down to 19 or 21 Sally's Fancy. They'll be plenty warm here.
