Time to Set up My Grill Game

Tonight I will be spinning a chicken stuffed with fresh herbs from the delta, for UPS tells me so.

Soon I will be adding a smoker accessory.

The trusty old Weber will never be the same.

It makes me regret that I am in my declining years and I only have a short time to enjoy my new flavors. Alas, I will push on.

Your chickens must be getting nervous.

You keep laying or I'll start spinning.

Hey, we have a long, hot summer approaching - just grill every day if you want to experiment a lot!

Now, if you could harness the live chickens to run a treadmill, geared down and attatched to the spinner, I believe you will have achieved true poetry in motion...or something like that.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you are not so advanced in years that you don't have enough time to enjoy spun chickens for a while to come.

Be grateful your weather allows for this type of cooking. It is snowing to beat all outside my window right now and my 20 minute commute took me over an hour this morning. I have a few weeks yet before it becomes grilling season.

I'm looking forward to a full chicken spinning review. I fancy myself to be quite accomplished in the use of the 22.5 Weber. I've seen the smoker deal, but have wondered if it is worth having when you can build a fire in one edge and occasionally drop a handful of soaked wood chips on the coals...

A couple of things about the smoker accessory Mark....The darn thing is supposed to keep the temperature constant at 225ish for a least 6 hours. This is the makings of true BBQ. All you need to do is check the water tray every hour so you have moist heat. With this additional extension ring I get with the rotisserie and another grill top and a few bricks I can layer my BBQ, ribs, chicken, beef, pork all in one and cook slow and low.

Of course you need a converter now for your truck (or do you have one?)so you can spin'm from the tailgate.

I'm intrigued. I do have an offset smoker for smoking larger amounts, but the Weber is perfect for a butt or two, or a butt and some ribs and sausage. The big smoker is sort of a wood hog. I will say that I can keep the big smoker down around 225 or so, but have trouble keeping the Weber at less than 275-300 without feeling like the fire is about to go completely out.

Mic...I have an 800 watt inverter on the truck always and a 2000 watt Honda generator for bigger stuff.

I plan to order the smoker soon.
