Interesting Stuff to Me

The more I study decompression theory, the more I realize just how much I don’t know about scuba.

I have 76 dives on my log and I am preparing mentally for these rather strenuous dives in late July.

So far, I have just followed my guidelines and dive computer without knowing what is actually going on in my body. What goes on in the body is a complex actions of tissues taking on gas, and off gassing at different rates.

Bone tissue and fat cells are slow to gas up and off gas. Organs are the fastest to accept gas and release gas.

This program simulates a dive on my dive computer. I simulated a dive to 130 feet just to see what was going on in my body. At 75 feet in the ascent, you can see my brain is off gassing but my bones are on gassing.

And this is all just theory.
