Trying to make it Draw

Been trying to get this firebox to draw better. I plugged up the back with sheet metal and I dampened down the chimney a bit with a sheet metal vent. It is drawing better but still smokey.

Maybe a little research on line, scrap that sucker and buy a new one.

Just a thought!

Because you "do" deserve it.

I would take every single thing OFF of the chimney, so that I could look down from the top and see the fire. A straight shot. And then get it hot. Hot with a hot phfire. Then it will draw the smoke up the chimney. If help is needed then, I would close the sides of the fire box and give the smoke no option but to go up.

Back when Mic walked among us, he postulated the same idea. The sides seemed to smoke it up more….so I took them off and left the back on.

Ken on the other hand suggested ditching it.

My neighbor is a mason…fine craftsman. Question…..should I install chicken spinners? Other cooking tings too?

It will draw with a really big ass hot fire.

DO IT!!!

CHICKEN SPINNERS!!!

I'd keep it small though, back in the 50's they were big and mostly ugly. Had one here, took me two days plus of very hard work to get rid of it!

Mic never "postulated" a thing in his life, trust me, I know!

You are a handy guy. You know what to do to make things work again or work better. My hubby is like that. This type of knowledge and ability is rarely present in a woman.
