An Autumn Shit Story

We had a wonderful 5 days camping down south, on Jekyll Island. Truly, we got our camping grove back.

And so, we headed home on the outskirts of Brunswick, GA to grab a McDonald’s Happy Meal before we headed home. Happy Meals are filling and low on calories compared to most fast food.  The main reason is one gets about 5 fries, 4 apple slices, and a plain small burger.

Gigi thought it was so cool that the happy meal came in a trick or treat Halloween Scooby Doo Bucket. It was a sturdy little plastic pail with Scooby Doo on the sides. Gigi likes Scooby Doo.

But, I digress……

On the entire trip, Galaxy had refused to go to the bathroom …number 2, specifically. Finally, into the middle of day three, while on a short walk, she could bear it no more, and let loose with a perfect casting of the last 18 inches of her colon.

Everyone was relieved.

Setting the Story Straight

Just to being you up to speed read this story

Okay, the Moosehead Bar is my twice a week hangout for lunch. I like this place. It is Charlotte blue collar.

So my response to the article:

This place is a bar first. It is where working class hangs out and drinks. Food is secondary and the food is good.

It would be classified as a shit hole bar but I like it and I like the owner. It is definitely no where I would take my wife and child. There are few independent bars left like this. Bars like this are common in the Caribbean but rare stateside.

This bar just won three national awards in Buffalo last month for their wings.

The aftermath of Carolina Dallas game and the clientele are drunk. Dallas fans are known to be taunting assholes…it is a fact, along with Philadelphia fans and Atlanta fans. It goes with the NFL.

Now if the guy in question had taken his family to a family place like Buffalo Wild Wings, this conflict might not have happened.

So a guy in a wheel chair with Dallas jerseys appears with his wife and kid and a drunken panther fans stands in the doors and taunts him. The guy taunts back.

No where is the guy shouting that he is military, nor dies he have on military clothes. He is a Dallas asshole in a wheel chair and nothing more. Not unusual for the Moose head clientele. I see physically challenged folks there all the time.

At this time the bar is understaffed with on guy in the kitchen, one at the bar, and one wait staff.

A few minutes later the owner (who happens to be Navy honorably discharged) arrives to try and keep the peace. The owner calls the police and he identifies the Panther Fan who is a known trouble maker.

He tries to reason with drunks and suggest that the Dallas guy leave until the police arrive. Meanwhile both sides are shouting. He is not telling a veteran marine to leave, just a Dallas fan who by just being a Dallas fan is inciting a riot..

The police arrive, refuse to arrest the Panther asshole, agree that the Dallas asshole should leave and the problem is solved.

NEVER was this about war veterans refusing to be served. It was about avoiding a bar brawl.

There are much better stories on COPS on Saturday night.

The Dallas fan, after the fact chose to go down this path of wheel chair veteran being harassed.  Those that know ain’t buying it.

I gotta say....

This has been one of the most relaxing vacations ever. A real fire, a fake fire, dogs, my woman, good food, great naps, damn.

Plus I have my technology. My iPad is in my lap, I am watching the hurricane live on TV, and we have wifi.

I smell like smokey campfire and my feet are a bit dirty. Modern camping at its best.

We talked to the surgeon today and should have Gigi's surgery scheduled soon. We are hopeful.

Camping Dazes

All is right in my world. Gigi and I needed this.

We love our new camper. It is so cozy and efficient. We have gone from running ac to heat.

The fake wood stove is a hit. It actually puts out heat when needed.

By days I take long walks with the dogs. At night, football and beers. Naps are sprinkled in between.

I will enjoy one more day here at Jekyll Island.

Camping Like I used To

We had this super sunset last night. A hurricane is just far enough off shore to cast some neat colors to the sky.

When traveling with dogs, it is always important to discover the sacred shitting grounds. We are fortunate to have this suitable bathroom area so close.

There is plenty of raccoon pooh around and even a squirrel skull to make this area the perfect doggy deification destination.

F W Fremont

Camping Again, Finally

A morning walk by the marsh. The tide is very high with the approaching hurricane.

With the idiots.

Tanner reclining by the fire.

Breakfast with an audience.

Add some toast.

Add a few eggs from home.

And by God....you've got a happy camper.

Mental Vacation Alert!

If I were a rich man…

I would have a glass of rich and bold red wine.

I would marry the woman I love.

I would surround myself with great friends.

I would laugh a lot.

I would do the work that I love.

I would never forget to play.

I would appreciate the creation that surrounds me.

I would love animals.

I would have season tickets to the Panthers to teach me humility.

I am a rich man.

Paypal Sides With the Thief

After further appeals, and more supporting documents, It turns out that Paypal is still siding with the thief, even though I have produced every document they requested.  They assured me last week that I would get a refund if I produced a USPS receipt which I did yesterday.

This eBay transaction was clearly a scam, and the scammer has other victims that Paypal and Ebay facilitated.

I did get some satisfaction from another potential victim that sent me this note just last night:

“Thanks for posting this guys complete details in Internet...
this is the best thing to do when things like this can happen...

If I wouldn't have seen this posting; I would have shipped my iPhone to this guy....you saved me.”

You are welcome sir. I am glad I could save you $200 and misery of having a financial corporation treat you like you are the bad guy.

This is enough evidence that I feel I could win in small claims court. Because...it's not the principal of the thing ..its the money.

Clearly this a money laundering operation.

Breaking News....

Well look here....old Pinhead got his self a new hat that fits, and a new shirt.

I've been staring at this ill fitting hat and outdated jersey for too many years.

The Panthers lost, but this was a bright spot.

A Vacation Film

Here is a short video tour of our new camping machine. Gone is the gigantic 5th Wheel RV, and back is the smaller, more maneuverable travel trailer.

Also in the film is a cameo appearance of me.

Thanks to the fine production crew for putting this all together.

Without further delay ….

Amazing Belly Caught on Film

This is a grade A, 10.0 belly that I saw today after lunch. It was amazing to behold.

You are viewing it from the dark side of the belly, and you can make out the crescent phase.

Notice if you will the perfect 45 degree angle of the belt buckle. There is at least an 8 inch drop from the buttocks to the belly foundation. This is quite the specimen.

Good job man.

Duh Weekend

I spent the weekend doing leaf blowing, RV packing, and it ended in a nice dive.

For decades I have fought the yearly leaf battle understaffed and unequipped. This year I have a new backpack blower that is like a portable hurricane on a stick. I fought the battle for about two hours, and then, hired a fellow for another three hours. We won.

There will be many more battles in the coming weeks, but now I have the upper hand.

The New travel trailer has much less storage. I spent a great deal of time sorting through must haves and must go for lack of space. The George Foreman grill for two made the cut. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th outdoor chair didn’t make the cut. Why would I need more than two chairs? If you visit, bring your own chair.

The quarry was packed yesterday. I managed to buddy up with a big eastern European guy with a heavy accent. He was a good diver. The water was cold. We dove to 67 feet for 41 minutes.

It was logged dive 98.

My Places

A shit hole, speak easy, honky tonk, bar, grille, called the Moosehead. It is one of my favorite places to have lunch.

They take their bar food seriously here. Everything is fresh and homemade.

The rest of the place is a visual wreck and I like that. It reminds me of so many Caribbean bars I frequent.

Don’t cross the owner, he can be rather cantankerous. Otherwise he is a swell guy.

This is an interesting video to me because I do all this in dreams.

I have even had sleep paralysis 3 times and it was very frightening.

I wish Morgan Freeman would have done the voice over but the sissy guy did okay. Enjoy:

Back on the Wagon

[NO IMAGE]

I checked myself back into fat rehab today by signing up for another 90 days of weight watchers.

By last January of this year I had lost 25 pounds, however since June, 9 pounds made its way back on me. I want to stop it now before it becomes an insurmountable task.

Plus I really like my clothes fitting.

So, lots of fruits and vegetables, little carbs/fats and exercise.

Oh...and see my new fall fescue grass?

Here's the Deal

Did you ever get something that you thought you wanted, but ended up not liking it? That has been our 5th wheel travel trailer.

In the pecking order of RVs, a 5th wheel is trumped only by a motor home. We never warmed up to it, and found it to be too big and cumbersome.

Today we downsized a bit and bought a travel trailer. Overall it is smaller and better suited for our needs.

Here is a shot of the wrap around kitchen. The refrigerator is much larger too.

This is the opposing end with sofa and TV.

Across from the sofa are two comfortable chairs and a big window.

There is a nice little dining area.

The hall leading to the bedroom.

Overall a good deal on price and a great trade in on our 2007 RV. It is much lower to the ground, which is good for old folks and old dogs.

The deal is pending the delivery of the trade in. I hope to have it next week.

A Year in Hot Dogs

It was a banner harvest as you recall.
First of the season dog and a cold beer.
 Gigi style with cheese.
and wReggie style without said cheese.
Spiral cut came into my life this year.
 This is a tailgate dog.
A very rare sighting ...This is a Durhamite (someone from Durham, NC) eating a real Derm (Durham) dog in Charlotte.
A store bought dog at Pine lake Country Club.

I hoovered up the first dog before I could pause to make this picture.
