I learned that leverage built the pyramids and not Jewish slaves as I had thought. I learned that I might as well fix it right while it is all torn up. I hate a crowbar. I'm tired of talking to chickens all day. I need a shower.
I woke up last night about 3:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep. As a last resort I decided to take a hot shower to relax and hopefully foster sleep.
After a few minutes of steamy bliss I could help but notice the attention to my head. I shampooed, washed my face, rinsed, conditioned, shaved, rinsed, and then attended the body in a casual fashion.
After I got out, back to the head where a brushed my teeth, hair, and gargled.
I love new apps especially when I can monkey around with faces.
I started the barn project by buying my first crow bar....a 36 incher. It didn't work so well so I called my pal Phfrankie and he filled me in on the prying sciences.
It is strange to be seasonally retired from tailgating. I swear it was our best season ever. Big crowds, good food, good weather and tons of friends showing up.
Now, as tradition holds, it is time for some home projects.
The barn needs some love. About three rows of siding will need to be replaced. Not bad for a 25 year old structure that I built using pine off of my land. Then a new gate is in order. I'm thinking a walk through gate.
Next the land needs some TLC with leaf blowing and general straightening up.
Finally I'll starts working on the grill project and gradually get ready for spring and outdoor living. I know I will be in full spring mode after St Croix.
Prediction for the Super Bowl, Seattle vs Denver and Seattle wins with a defensive crush. Or maybe the 49ers vs New England. I'm bad at this stuff but I will be watching.
Our stadium is getting major upgrades over the next few years which include escalators, a new sound system, and a bigger HD Scoreboard. Bla bla bla.
As for me and my tailgate wagon, I plan first of all to increase seating capacity by 33%, yes I am adding two more bar stools.
I am going to get this trailer wired so I can loose all of the drop cords.
A can opener will be installed.....found out I needed one about every other game. Plus it will look darn cool. You know, old school mechanical with the handle.
The biggest addition will be the double grill deck with the magic wing cooking machine. I'm still developing the concept. I would like to have it wired with pop up work tables and a big ass btu single gas burner between the grills.
The phone is ringing throughout the day. My Facebook dings.....then I get a text. All tailgate buddies.
This town is rocking over finally getting a home playoff game.
Sunday may be our last tailgate of the season that we thought was over anyway. The only way for another home game is 49ers loose and Seattle looses. Then we would face the Saints at home for the NFC Championship. But that is getting ahead of the facts.
The 49ers are great but so are we. It is going to be a great, tight game or an embarrassing blowout.
We will have plenty of beer, flank steaks, meatballs, shrimp skewers, chili, wings, and steak/chicken/ham/sausage all rolled into a roast cooked with hickory smoke over charcoal.
Then we will watch the game at the tailgate. That is the good life.
I bought a GoPro video camera last March for scuba diving. I used it a few times in the quarry. Well, the time has come to practice up on the use and operation of said camera so that I'll be ready to post neat videos from St Croix.
Here I have the video mounted on my head as I do my morning feeding.
I got an eBay auction going that is getting a lot of action and I like that. This is as much fun as tracking a FedEx package. If I ship by FedEx then I could double my fun.
I have participated in every home NFL game this year but have only attended one game against Seattle, one that we lost.
Prior to this year, I attended every home game since about 2001. Prior to that I attended at least 4 home games a year since the franchise started in 1995.
I am an NFL fan and a Panther fan through and through. But, I no longer care to attend the live event, TV has trumped the in game experience. I watch the game at home, on my tailgate wagon, or at my club.
Parking has gone from $15 to $25 per event. The mayor of Charlotte owns our lot and knows when he can charge a premium.
To and from the stadium is a two mile walk. Once inside it is another hike to the seat. One must stand in line to get in, to buy a $12 beer, or to relieve oneself. There are fans around with opposing opinions, hot sun and bitter cold are exhausting.
Inside the bowl is spotty wifi and constant video commercials pounding in local sponsors like Bojangles and Harris Teeter.
Tailgating, plus HD TV and Sunday Ticket have definitely trumped the in game experience for me and a lot of fans.
I look forward to our next home playoff game from a tailgate and TV experience.
I can build this. In my mind I have two webers sharing the same frame with a work table between. It is on wheels so it moves easily on and off the trailer.
Opposite sides have pop up leaves for more work space similar to the pop up bar.
Both grills can be just that or one can be a dedicated wing cooker/smoker. Two people can cook easily on opposite sides or the same side.
Storage down under and all stained to match the trailer. It works both for home and tailgating and allows me to get rid of one weber.
I hate a phatlet. You've seen them in the wild...they are a big ass phone that could pass for a small tablet.
Also, I can't stand to be involved/shutout by someone in public talking to a phone on speaker.
Imagine the horror yesterday while I'm in line checking out at the grocery store and this Asian woman is talking in native dialect on a phatlet in speaker mode and is just carrying on and not making the best use of her/my time.
I learn something every dive. I was down about 77 feet when I realized my tank wasn't properly clipped off. It was dark and cold but I took a moment to clip it off with my cold water mittens.
A great dive of 52 minutes with a proven dive buddy.
