A Predicament

Stuff that is expensive and I hate to buy. Tires, luggage, roofs, and furnaces.

Stuff that is expensive, and is a joy to buy. Scuba gear, gadgets, fine wine and food.

I can see the value in new cars, but I would rather have my money for the fun stuff.

I really can’t decide where a Nest Thermometer falls. It is both a gadget and furnace related, yet could free more money long term for more fun stuff.

I want one.

I think the thing I resent paying for most is printer ink...

There are lots of fun, expensive things, but I tend to choose carefully and always lag behind the technology until it reaches what I think of as a sensible price.

There is no fun in thermometers.

Adjusting a thermometer remotely on my iPhone sounds promising.

Stop saying thermometer.

All of you.

It is a thermostat.

And I want one.

Hey wReg, don't worry, it's a California affliction.
